LSRW in English

For early and primary learners we have English Language Programme. We teach English using international methods and strive to enable them to use language confidently. Our strategically designed K-12 language curriculum prepares children to develop LSRW skills in English Language.

Listening and Spoken English

It is apparent that students are struggling to use English language for communication as they listen little in school. It is a bitter truth that children are not exposed to language learning environment. Since it is little to listen, nothing is clear while speaking in English. As a result, children tend to develop a kind of aversion towards the language. We K-12 believe in providing a learning environment where children can observe, learn and apply when it comes to real life situations. The more they listen in a language, the better and the best will be the outcome. At K-12, we teach speaking skills through various activities:

Story Telling.
Show and Tell.
Picture Description.
Role Play.
Debate.
Interview.
Drama.
Stimulus Based Conversation.
Personal Entertainment Technology – PET Talk.

Reading Through Phonics

Nowadays, many parents are anxious when their children are struggling to read or not reading at all. The lack of reading skill is a problem that worsens their academic performance. It is never late to find a solution. We K-12 has the best solution for you! We teach Phonics to develop Early, Easy and Effective Reading Skills!!

What is phonics?

Phonics is a system that shows the relationship between the letters and the sounds in a language. It is a way of teaching children how to read and write. It helps children hear, identify and use different sounds that distinguish one word from another in the English language.

Why is it important?

A child who learns reading through phonics will have excellent phonemic awareness– which is the ability to hear, identify, and manipulate letter symbols with their appropriate sound.Written language can be compared to a code, so knowing the sounds of individual letters and how those letters sound when they’re combined will help children decode words as they read. Understanding phonics will also help children know which letters to use when they are writing words.

What do we teach in Phonics?

After a careful research, we have designed a 5 level phonics programme to teach reading skills. We teach children the followings:

  • Sounds of vowels and consonants
